It actually ships from butterflyphoto.com, which I had considered ordering from earlier this week, but at 759 + shipping, I decided to hold out. Glad I did.

I've read a lot of reviews about butterfly, most good, some bad. It seems it's had a history of bait & switch in the past, however, I ordered from them earlier this year with no problems. And since it's through Buy.com, I'm really not worried. I've never had problems with them (10+ orders in the last couple years).

Throw in a new google checkout account and it's $710.80 w/ shipping.

It's an interesting offer. I didn't see it clearly state that it had a USA warranty. Did I miss that or is it grey market?

The info on buy.com's page is really brief. I found the hv20 on butterflyphoto.com and it says it includes USA Manufacturer Warranty and it looks like the regular canon package - charger, cables, battery, software etc.

The reviews of BF through buy.com are 100% positive (18 reviews). Not sure how legit all 18 reviews are, but I'm willing to gamble.

Also, buy.com has a $750 "marketplace guarantee". Buy.com lists the mfg. part number as 2059B001. Should be easy enough to dispute if necessary.

I'm going to call butterflyphoto tomorrow to confirm, but I'm still not worried.

The $400 model that I tried to buy from usaphoto (or whatever the heck it was called) was a different story LOL. I ordered it and requested overnight shipping. Called the next day to confirm: "oh, I'm sorry, this is the overseas model, it'll take 2-3 weeks to get here, doesn't include charger, battery, cables, or anything." "um yeah, that won't do" "alright I'll cancel the order" CLICK. Wish I would have read the warnings on this site earlier.

Just got the HV20, everything looks good. Can't wait to use it tonight - Fremont Street!
