    Hak77,

First off, that commercial was great! Nice use of music for sure. I had a feeling that's what was going to happen, but it's a great spot.

Secondly, I'm loving that rig. I like the stabilization against the head, these shoulder rigs I keep seeing look large and unwieldy when mounted on tripods. It looks like that whole package could just be dropped on a tripod head and be good to go. I assume that since you have the link as your signature, that you are the creator or involved in hangrip.com?

Is the rig in the video above one the "side and top handle" package rigs sold on the website? Or are there additional add-ons? I couldn't really tell how the follow focus was mounted - was it on a rail? (and would that rail and mount be included in one of these packages)

Thanks! Actually it is not my commercial and I did not have anything to do with it. It was made by Jaakko Slotte and he use HanGrip V8 rig on that.
Yes I am the creator of HanGrip and now one of the owners of this company.

I like the rig also very much and mostly I use this configure by my self. It can be configured in many way and in the video it was different than on website. It really can be mounted on tripod and with QR plate it is very fast too.

So the rig in the video is this V8 and no extra add-ons. http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=35148
And the follow focus is from Dfocus mounted to HanGrip rail. So it can be mounted on HanGrip rig just like in this Dave's video.

    HaK77,

Thanks for the info. I've been checking out all your stuff, and even reading your old post from last year looking for partners (where you were semi-accused of being a spammer). Nice to see that since then it looks like you have a good marketing campaign on - with (what looks to me like) a quality product, nice website, and international sales. Yeah, I google-stalked your company so I could see more!

I'm not sure where you're at now on sales, etc., but I think this is going to take off and I wish you great success! Hoping to place an order with you soon, but first I need to get my camera. I'm waiting on Nikon's rumored announcement of new DSLRs before I jump on a 7D.

Alrighty, time to get this back OT.

It's a great product, Hak, and the conversation is appreciated, but lets not turn this into a "for sale" thread of types. I'm not saying no conversation, but lets keep it limited.

I'd love to see pics of any dslr rigs if you guys have them! Post 'em up!

Nice to see someone still plays with LEGO. I built a SLR with an ultra-telephoto lens for photography... I wasn't into video then...

Here's my rig. It's the closest I have to a DSLR DIY rig.

This is as crazy as my rig is probably gonna get. I bought these acrylic DSLR rails from Greg Tay, the guy who makes the GT35 adapters. They are plenty sturdy for anything I'll ever throw at them, namely the monster Takumar 200/4 pictured, which weighs about a pound and a half. I'm not comfortable hanging this beast off of my camera without support, and even on a tripod it's useless for video without the rails.....it shakes like a crackhead if I blink too hard.

Was it the smartest thing in the world to spend $80 to support a $40 lens? Perhaps not. But hey, as we all know, the first rule of videography is to look cool.

Simple, but effective. Duct-Tape hood with Sennheiser wireless receiver.

    For focusing:

The magic behind good sound: Handheld Sennheiser Wireless mic with custom capsule. The Boom Operator also has a Wireless receiver for monitoring Sound.

Gives a nice Film-Look at higher ISO, can't post the Image due to Personality-Rights. Lens is the EF 24-105L 1:4 IS USM.

Looks like the Lilliput HD monitors. They run about $200.
