Default 10 meter HDMI? which cable? Will it work?

I'd like to use a 10 meter HDMI cable.

I found a 28 AWG cable certified for HDMI 1.3 (Supports up to 1080p Resolutions and 8 Channel Suround Sound).

Cables Unlimited Premium 10 Meter Version 1.3 HDMI Home Theater Cable (PCM229510M)

I've also seem some with 22 and 24 AWG (but not certified for 1.3).

I'm concerned about dropouts - and also the physical connection to the HV20. I'm wondering if a really thick cable would be hard to keep in the socket of the HV20, or could create strain? Probably rules out moving the camera very much (any thoughts?).

So, anyone have any experience with a 10 meter cable?

BTW - I'd be using the Black Magic Intensity with a Mac Pro.

    Thanks!

I use a 25 foot for my MacBook Pro to my 46" Sony XBR2 Flat, and a 50 foot from my Panasonic HD Projector to my DVD upconverter and computer.

Not the same application but works well for me, capturing I am sure would be much more picky. I buy from Monoprice.com, excellent customer serice and quality.

I don't use an amp but they sell those too.

Haven't done this with HDMI yet, but it seemed to always work for firewire...We always create a loop and tape the cable up so it's not actually pulling on the port. (All it takes is one person tripping on the cable and it's shot)

As for drop-outs, you can get little ditribution amplifiers for HDMI. I can't attest to how well they work though.

Use cheap velcro straps to loop the cable at the camera and remove the strain ... they're the best invention, evah!
