Default Game #89 - I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell

    Ok first picture...

This movie might be pretty hard for you, since it wasn't well known, but it has a cult following behind the story, but wasn't a great movie in most peoples opinion, but alas WAS a cinema release..

Only 2 guesses per picture, one guess at a time, meaning no consecutive guesses!

It reminds me of a very funny scene from the big lebouski. But that can't be it... according to your comments.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Exactly what I was thinking HnR.
I had that typed out, but didn't want to waste a guess. The Big Lebowski is VERY well known, and VERY well liked. At least where I'm from.

But man... That looks like Walter and The Dude...

Nah, it isn't the big lebowski.
Just checked and the car Walter trashes looks like an RX7, not a Mustang. Same color though.

verbal hint - the movie is based on a book, also a cult following, as well as being a NYT Best Seller for a few years in a row...

    I hate this game!!!:

You know what would be more fun? Take screen shots from very well-known films, films that almost everyone is guaranteed to have seen. And use frames from the most fleeting parts of the film, the most trivial scenes.

That would show who was really paying attention and who wasn't!

It would also show what aspects of a film most people really notice the most...

If I ever win one of these games, (and that's very unlikely), that's what I'll be doing.

The beauty of this game is that no two people have seen the same movies. While many of the past entries were unseen by me, including some very popular titles, an obscure title may appear that I HAVE seen.

A few games ago, I took an obscure scene from a very well-known film (My Fair Lady) - a shot of a minor character, who appears for maybe less than 20 seconds in the entire movie - and sure enough, it was immediately recognized.

I think this game is fun as it is, and you learn a lot: Googling cult movies including the term "fish net" (as in the last picture) gives you a lot of results, but for some reason, Google picks it up as "fishnet" instead, and combines that with "stockings"... Somebody ought to design a better search engine...

Not if, as I said, we used frame images from the most brief and trivial scenes from those well-known movies. A bit of landscape, or a unique camera angle of a street scene, even a closeup of a common object. It would be tantalising, because we'd know we should know the answer!!

Anyway, when I get a turn...

That was me and I have seen the movie about a Year ago for the first and only time, but the whole atmosphere made me think of it.

As for the current game, I am sure I've seen it, but no bells yet.
