I dunno--- after looking at many images of small cams with large mics, extra lens, etc. added- they look kinda silly- compared to the fancy expensive cams which look rather cool. But of course most of us don't care to spend several thousand bucks on this hobby- until, like Michael Moore, our birlliance is recognized- I'm sure he started with a simple cam and now has top of the line equipment- not that doing so makes his work any more impressive. (sorry for the rambling- had too much cofee this morning)

I am using both XHA1 and HV20 in weddings. XHa1 physical apperance looks great and pro. HV20 is not. That's my intention to add more stuff to the camera so it don't look that amature.

Hi, I want to get the HV 30 for my film production and use the wd-h43. Are they compatible? I know it's compatible with the HV 20 but just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks!!

HV20 and 30 has the almost identical body. You can mount WD-H43 to HV30 too. Only it's not black in color to match the 30's black sexy body.

You can use the BP-2L24H battery to balance it out.

Will this wide angle lens work for my canon HG20?

I bought my WD-H43 for my HV30. Got it all from B & H Photo in N.Y. I love it. I shoot everything with the wide angle on and have no complaints. I would say that being a commercial photographer for 34 years, I pretty much shoot everything in wide angle. And now that I have gone into video I pretty much do the same. It gives me a much more dimensional look.

I have been thinking of getting a Raynox wide angle, just for the threaded front end. But it is not that important to me yet.
