23.976 or 24 fps
Read many posts, but not understand why some cameras have 24 and 30 fps and some others 23.976 and 29.97. Canon 550d 24, 25 and 30, but big brother 7d has 29.97, 25, 23.976 fps. Why 550d have no the same frame rates than 7d. That is marketing trick? 24 und 30 in cheaper camera (550d vs 7d) is less usable than 23.976 and 29.97?
How to mix in timeline 7d with 550d and hv40 footage?
Maybe something have a time to explain this

AFAIK, the general rule is that when they say 24 or 30 fps, they mean 23.976 and 29.97 respectively. Pocket and web cams are generally the only ones that shoot true 30 fps.
