    yep!
i'm ready to buy the lilliput lcd and i would like to know if the touchscreen (on 619aht) is really a handicap? it is just problematic with exteriors shots, does it produce less sharpness?

this screen will be not only used with my cam setup, but also as a car/travel monitor, and perhaps as a little second pc monitor. so the touchscreen would be a nice option for that but if it handicaps too much the focusing, i will go with the 619 ah instead.

    thanks

Alfa, the 669 that most of the guys are getting is the cheaper one without the touchscreen.

I've heard that there is quite a big difference in terms of image quality once you apply the touchscreen and of course with the price being a bit higher, as a dedicated focusing screen, it makes much more sense to get the non-touchscreen version.

I think it'd work great for what you were originally intending, but you prolly made the right decision by steering away from it for focusing =D

Hi guys, I just thought I'd let you know that Vitrolight now offers a 1024x600 LCD with HDMI control board for $150. If you CNCed a case (or try asking Daniel at jetsetmodels.info) you would have a very nice HD LCD. Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/7inch-TFT-LCD-Sa...item439df2a915

    Hi there

how do you attach this to your HV20 ? is the hot shoe sturdy enough to hold it ? or do you have a bracket ?

If you have any pictures of your setup, I'd really appreciate seeing them.

    thank you

Out of the box, the 619AH is marvelously lightweight and the rubberized case is nice to the touch.

you gotta love members who post a bunch of talk, and then never come back to answer direct questions. Sheesh.

I bought an adapter to put the 619ah and so life is good. It works on the HV20, ad T2i etc.

The only problem I find wit the 619ah is that when you start recording with the T2i is that the screen aspect ratio changes, and when you stop recording it goes back to normal.

I can't find an hdmi cable to hook up my Hv20, so I wonder if this is the same thing.

Other than that, the 619ah is an amazing monitor, pulling focus is super easy. I'll never use my camera again without this monitor. I also opted for the battery that goes with it, ( it attaches to the back of the monitor )

this is normal, t2i/550d outpout while recording is 480p only, and turns on 1080 on pause/playback.
output for hv20/30/40 is 1080 so you will not get this problem.

and i confirm : great monitor

CNC'd a case? Why? I've made a few from Neilsen Metal framing for a fraction of the cost of CNC. BTW. that kit look very much like the Manhattan LCD 7.2" that I own.

    Hi guys!

What about this 5.6" HDMI LCD Kit for a cheap field monitor solution?
    http://cgi.ebay.com/5-6inch-TFT-LCD-...item43a040351e
    Resolution: 1280x800
    Brightness(cd/m2): 300
    Contrast ratio: 500:1
    Visual angle(R/L/U/D): 85/85/85/85
    Backlight: LED

It sounds great for that price doesn't it? I'd like to buy something for my 35mm Dof adapter system.

The brightness, contrast and resolution seem pretty good and it comes with component-in so you shouldn't have any hassles getting an HD signal through.

Hi every one this is my first post. Iam thinking about getting a kit from manhattan lcd. However they dont seem to stock the 10.6 kit any more only the 10.1.
    http://www.manhattanlcd.com/product_p/1001.htm
As well as using this kit for my focus assist via hdmi or componant, i wanted to be able to plug my vga cable from my computer. I wanted to be able to switch between the two while iam shooting. is this possible?

I am looking at a Lilliput 7" 667GL package right now for under $200. new. It comes with a Sony F970 6600mAh battery and charger, big sunshade, BNC to RCA adapters, remote etc. It also has an XLR DC connector to power the monitor from your camera in a pinch.

Does anyone have this monitor and use it outdoors? How do you like the monitor? How is it in direct sunlight? Is it necessary to use a big sunshade, or does it work well outdoors in the sunlight?

Does anyone know the difference between the 667, 668 and 669 models? I couldn't see a technical difference in the monitors.

Thanks for any feedback on this.

    Aaron

I guess nobody here has one of these monitors or doesn't know if they work well in direct sunlight, but I'm about to find out. I just ordered one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lilliput-7-6...ht_6606wt_1396 $225. shipped to my door, and they upgraded me to the latest version v2.

I also ordered a second 7500mAh Sony NP F970 battery. It looks like this monitor will suit my needs. I plan to use it as a monitor for my HV40 and with my underwater camera. I hope it works well in sunlight!

Didn't read it before, but the one I have is the 619AH which requires an external battery. Works well, I've used it last saturday on a bright daylight without the sun shade. Worked well.
Hopefully I got it, because I wouldn't have been able to frame properlly without it with the small LCD on the T2i. Sure there's always the loupe, but I had another setup:

Thanks Draps! I am very glad to hear that it works well in the sunlight outdoors! Thanks for putting my mind at ease. The model I got has a lot of connections which is handy for me, and the optional $5 headphone jack may come in handy as well. I'm looking forward to getting the monitor, much nicer than looking at the small lcd or viewfinder. I shouldn't run out of battery power either, and it's nice that the monitor version that I got takes the same batteries as the Sony HVRZ1u we use as a main camera

    BTW very nice T2i rig.
