    Default Bone Palace Ballet

    Hello everyone,

I posted a teaser for Bone Palace Ballet several months ago. I am happy to say that I am finally finished with it and have it available for viewing. This was our first attempt at shooting a short film and a lot of the knowledge and tips used to create this was from pouring through all the info here at hv20, so I just wanted to say thank you to all the regular contributers.

This short film is based off of the short story called "Guts" by Charles Bukowski and was shot entirely on a Canon HF S-100 and JAG35ST DOF adapter. I have since moved on to a 7D but will always remember my first DOF adapter film Anyways feel free to comment, I would love feedback good or bad and I hope we were able to create something that people can enjoy. Thank you!

I think the choice to make this black and white was good. The acting is so/so. It's not the worst I have seen, but the scene's are not all that convincing. Especially the fighting scene. I think overall this is a good effort, and to make a short this length is a huge accomplishment. So Kudos for that. Technically it wasn't bad. you had some some nice shots in there. I wasn't feeling the music, I think you could have sold the story better with a good score. Either way, I know you learned a ton of things to do on your next project. keep up the good work.
    I'm feeling frisky!

Thanks for commenting Antman. Yeah, we never had any intentions of making this color, just thought B&W was more fitting to the story. As far as the acting, this was the first time that anyone in the film had ever acted before so on that note I am pleased with how they performed. Like you said, i've def seen worse myself. In regards to the fight scene the guys are supposed to be drunk so the fight wasn't supposed to "look good". Thank you for the kudos, It felt really good to finish a project of this length as so much goes into filmaking and we were learning as we went along. The music was all Tom Waits and we felt it represented the feel of the story but it might now work for everybody I guess. We did learn a massive amount on this film and def. will be more confident in our future projects.

I've been keeping up with your thread with the scenes from your film and I really like what you have shown so far, looking forward to seeing the finished film. Thanks again for commenting.
