Please help me with my footage. First time newb!

Test video taken with my HV30 camera, my canon 50mm f1.4 lens and a Jag35 lens in Inwood Hill park in my neighborhood in Manhattan.

I need feedback. All comments welcome. Good and bad. See below for video link.

It's my first time shooting with this lens and a jag35. My fifth time shooting with the HV30. It was extremely difficult as it was snowing and cold! It was fun as hell though to play with my new toys.

Any suggestions and comments from experienced HV30/Jag35/Adobe premiere users are appreciated. I don't even know what I shot it in but I think it was standard HDV and exported at 30p. All in spotlight mode.

Edited on Adobe Premier and slightly color corrected although I suck at it at the moment.

Inwood Hill park is the last natural forest land left in Manhattan so I had to check out what a blizzard looks like in a forest! Next time I will actually go in the forest. Enjoy!

Well you were enjoying yourself i see,If the cams colour settings were correct CC should not be nessesary in snow, if a tripod is a no go a brace or camsling is a must for me.Keep it up though.

I'll keep that in mind next time I go shooting. I'm about to buy a tripod soon. The weather is getting better so I'll definitely be shooting more. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

You may want to get rails for that Jag... I hear they can wear your HV threads if not properly supported.

Yeah I may do that as well. Buying all of the accessories slowly as I get more practice in. Shooting with the Jag attached already made the camera pretty heavy but I guess with enough practice I will get used to the weight. Thanks for the advice.

I hate to sound like a douche, I really do, but that was your first mistake. If you want to get at all decent with a camera, you need to learn the basics first, without the complication of the DOF adapter.

Its like trying to build a new computer, but you've never used one before. Or like trying to paint with oil paints and the most you've done are a couple pencil drawings.

Its a whole new world and 10 levels of difficulty added. If you want to get at all decent with your camera, loose the JAG for now. Shoot some stuff with the naked HV and go from there.

You need to do that. Foundations are the basis to a strong future. You also need a fluid tripod and when you get to the level where you can use the JAG, you need to get a rail support. Its the Air, food, and water to shooting non-amateur videos.

That is, of course, unless you like the "siezure" videos...

Shigeta, thanks for the feedback! I was thinking the same thing about testing it some more without the adapter as it was really tough my first time with the Jag. Don't worry I like any and all criticisms and suggestions. It will help me get better.

I will be posting more stuff on here as soon as the weather gets better so keep an eye out if you can.

I'm definitely going to shoot with a tripod next time. I thought I had a steady hand but once I saw the footage I see why its so important.

It was pretty dark by the time I went out that day since the sun was about to go down. What really upset me was how soft the video looked and nothing was really that sharp looking.
