Thumbs up Feature Film shot with HV20 "Ill Square"

An experimental feature directed by Edgardo Flores. Shot with a Canon HV20 for a budget of $320.00 US. I was fortunate enough to take part in this film and I must say I was quite impressed by how it all came together. For anyone interested in Kubrick or Godard, I highly recommend this film, for it bares aesthetic similarity's. You can purchase "Ill Square" through their website www.illsquare.com or at amazon.com for $11.99 (don't quote me on this) I can assure you, It's worth every cent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atBi43Fr4kM

Kubrick and Goddard ! HAHAHAHA more like Ed Wood. Honestly I would rather watch an Uwe Boll movie.

You can tell good Cinematography with 1 frame. I have about 250 in my head that would tell me this is no Kubrick.

11.99 for this is insulting, What's the deal, is the filmmaker trying to retire? I don't like to pay 10.00 for a hundred million dollar hollywood feature, never mind a film shot on the hv20, that looks like it was done in a weekend. No offense , but this looks really ametuar. And the acting is pretty lousy from what I can see on the trailor. If anything, he should be paying us to watch this.

Although this is one crazy video... there were some shots that we good. The problem is that the poor lighting shots dominate and make you feel like you are watching an aperture video. Like I said. There are some nice shots in there.

Your audio is just as important as your video. re-shoot with some good audio, get a couple of work lights.

Might it be a Dogme 95 film?

no because it would have to be 35mm film. the director cant be credited, and there cant be music unless it's in the scene. Thoe three would be breaking the dogma95 rules.

i just think the 11.99 pricetag is rediculous. Dosent look like many people are going to put it out either.

I feel good knowing that even with the out of focus edges, and the "ground glass" problem.. my footage still looks better than this does. I think it would be one thing to come here and ask people what they thought, and try to get some criticism to make your future projects better.. but self promoting like that just makes you look bad, especially when the project doesn't even come close to matching the comparisons made.

Looks like it has been shot and burned straight to DVD, no CC or work done in post...
Sounds like it has been recorded with the onboard mic...
Sorry nuqlio, , but i don't think this movie is good at all. There is more professional looking shorts with good acting to be found on this forum...
    My opinion
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.

It appears the DVD is being sold through Amazon CreateSpace. The profit is probably about $1.64 per disk. Here is my calculation:
    Code:
    List Price $11.99
    Amazon 45% $5.40
    Fixed Charge $4.95
    -------------------------------
    Profit $1.64
