    Default I.AF or not?

I have a Raynox wide-angle adapter with my HV20, and although I haven't tested it, it is obvious that the lens partly obscures the I.AF sensor - in fact the manual refers to this.
So when I am using the wide angle, I have so far switched the I.AF off. I am considering leaving it turned off even when I remove the wide-angle.
My question is - how big a difference is there between using the I.AF and having it turned off - it would be much easier for me to always leave it in one state or the other, I'm sure it's one of those things that's easy to forget to change when switching lenses in a hurry.
Anyone have any experience with this?
