Default Still comparison HV20 vs. Sony DCR-PC100

Okay this is a simple illustration, how much more detail we're getting with the HV20.

There's two still grabs off the video from 1) a Sony DCR-PC100 MiniDV NTSC camera. then 2) the HV20.
Of course this test could of also been made with switching the HV20 from HDV to DV, but it wasn't.

An interesting note: the HV20 is quite WIDE; the DCR-PC100 needed a wide angle lens to cover the same area. (Technically this would of also reduced the DCR-PC100's image quality a little, but this is not really that scientific anyway, so chill!
Pics are changed in size to make them easier to view. The HV20 pic is made smaller, the DCR-PC100 bigger.

I suspect if it had been, the results would have been closer. Still a significant difference, but not quite such hideous SD.

    Cheers,
