I would like to congratulate all of the participants from round one, 'Serial Killer.' I finally had some time when neither Vimeo nor Comcast were hating me to sit and watch all the entries on my desktop with the good 5.1 sound properly cranked.

I thoroughly enjoyed every one. It was very inspiring to see so many different creative solutions to the same basic assignment, not to mention the all-too-common shortages of budget, time and talented help. If I could, I'd give each film an award:

PG-13 Serial Killer Movie — Best Original Screenplay

The Clarkston Heights Killer — Best Cinematography

The Serial Killer - Wal Friman — Best Actor in a Leading Role

Butcher - Fake Trailer — Best Editing & Visual FX

    Washing Machine — Best Directing

So many of these feel like they have the 'legs' to become longer films; I've already thought of half-a-dozen scenes for 'PG-13 Serial Killer Movie' (a light-hearted, slapstick American Psycho) and 'The Serial Killer - Wal Friman' (a spare, less-stylized Buddy Boy). Well done to all!

    Thanks for the words Erik!
I hope it's going to be similar with the Heroic one!

Default Aw. I heard about this too late.

I've been looking through this thread tonight, and WOW I missed a lot. I really want to get into this contest. It looks like real fun.
But I really want to make a movie on the Power Outage theme, but now that it's changed... darn it.

Could I still make a movie on the Power Outage theme?

    Sure, but it won't count!

The more practice you get, the better!

The new theme is Heroic, in case you wanted to jump on it.

I'll be setting up the Vimeo page sometime within the week, so keep your eyes peeled in the next thread.

Also, I'm working logistics on getting a Shig35 Static for a possible prize. I'm sure more people will try if there is some incentive, but other people are going to have to step up to the plate and donate prizes whether in the form of products or services.

PM Me or Drapes if you have any questions/ concerns or are wanting to donate a prize of some sort.

but we wouldn't want the power outage theme to go to waste. come on.

Seriously though, super hero movies are kinda high budget/a lot of work. I have some hero films planned, but those are too big, and involve way too much for only 5 minutes. I seriously had the PERFECT idea for the power outage one.

As Vishus stated about this Theme, you can go from the SuperHero to the casual FireFighter profession. Anything that involve an "heroic" act can easily do it.
As for the Power OUttage theme, i had an excellent idea too, when my HDD just died on me with my project on it...
As i said before, i had the idea for the serial killer one too, but nobody to shoot it, i'll work on it and try to post it in the footage subforum just because i think it'll be cool to watch. You can do it with the Power Outtage if you don't enter the Heroic one...
Seriously, try to make somthing, Shigeta is up to give a 35mm adapter! come one it worth the effort!
Looking forward to see you in the contest!

I do like the Power Outage theme as well.

All you need to do is win or convince the winner of the Heroic-Themed contest
to make it Power Outage next.
