I would like to congratulate all of the participants from round one, 'Serial Killer.' I finally had some time when neither Vimeo nor Comcast were hating me to sit and watch all the entries on my desktop with the good 5.1 sound properly cranked.
I thoroughly enjoyed every one. It was very inspiring to see so many different creative solutions to the same basic assignment, not to mention the all-too-common shortages of budget, time and talented help. If I could, I'd give each film an award:
PG-13 Serial Killer Movie — Best Original Screenplay
The Clarkston Heights Killer — Best Cinematography
The Serial Killer - Wal Friman — Best Actor in a Leading Role
Butcher - Fake Trailer — Best Editing & Visual FX
Washing Machine — Best Directing
So many of these feel like they have the 'legs' to become longer films; I've already thought of half-a-dozen scenes for 'PG-13 Serial Killer Movie' (a light-hearted, slapstick American Psycho) and 'The Serial Killer - Wal Friman' (a spare, less-stylized Buddy Boy). Well done to all!![]()
