Hi all. Thought this would make for great first post. I'm too into DIY but more on a higher level. I started off like most, with garage tools and slowly climbed the ladder to using CNC machines to get the best tolerance for my equipment. With this is mind I have completed my custom built full rig. 99% ready. It's been a long road but I'm glad I'll get to use it in making my first feature. Filming starts in February.
Many have been many discussions about Steadicam, higher brand systems as well as lower brand systems to DIY rigs; and what to buy and the differences. Well, if you are interested in reading up a little on such subject matter then just read my article:

SteadIcam vs. SteadYcam

For those interested, here are pics of my rig. A mixture of both commercial parts and custom built by me.
