tomorrow i will fly to mexiko with my new HV20. Unfortunately, an ordered highcapacity battery didnīt ship in time. so i am stuck with the original + a lousy emergency batterie (720mAh) i bought yesterday.

I would be glad to know some tips on how to maximize the batterie lifetime:

#how much energy does it take to shut off and on the camera? is it good to switch off right after recording, or is it better to hold in standby if you might record 4 minutes later? what is the threshhold time? (i.e. for my laptop itīs one hour: better for the battery to put to sleep instead shut down if I use it within the next hour)

#LCD takes more energy than view finder, right?

#how much energy consumes the OIS?

#how about the tape transport: is it necessary to avoid at any cost to play back / rewind?

#I-AF vs AF vs Manual? any relevant difference?
