I saw a "too good to be true" price on an HF20, $500 and a discount bringing the total to $350. I checked out the website, Horchow, it seems to be legit. It's owned by Neiman Marcus. The item has been pulled off the site if using a normal search. This link may still work: http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog...=cprod62690016 I have ordered 3 and am planning to sell all of them. This could get interesting.

My fraud radar was set at ease after a few lengthy conversations. I suspect that someone had a huge "oh $hi&" moment and they are scrambling to figure out what to do. If what I know about the music retail mrp/dealer cost translates I'm getting these far below cost.

At least I opened a credit card just for these transactions.

I just checked the site and add the item to cart then tried to apply the coupon code they have on the site for the 30% discount but it came back as an error so I guess they changed it.

I think the sale/code expired Monday. Being new I didn't mention earlier since it could be viewed as scam promotion etc. But still isn't $500+SH a good deal? I have received emails since the purchase stating that I needed to call to confirm that I was willing to wait for an expected arrival in January. I did and there was no accessories or bait and switch. My CC balance hasn't been hit, just the available credit.

Got an email the first HF20 is expected to arrive 11/23! I'm still expecting a problem. I'm hopeful though. Sometimes good things do happen to bad people.

Well just make sure that you're paying by credit card and not debit card, you'll have 180 days to do a charge back

I opened a new account just to do this transaction. If it's fraud I'll let Chace and Neiman Marcus duke it out.

Sad part is Chace holds my mortgage, a detail I picked up tonight. Anyone else need a neon sign on the inside of their glasses reminding them that they aren't half as brilliant as they think they are? I'm wondering if there's a market.

Update:

The two additional HF20s I ordered after the item became reachable by direct link only were canceled. I have received lots of contact about changing delivery dates including a phone call assuring me I would receive the camcorder, but they just can't say when. At $390 I think I'm still in good shape for as much as a year to turn a profit.

FYI:

It looks like Best Buy will have the HF20 for $500 on Black Friday this year. With Reward Card you'll get a % back and if it's online (probably not) you can use the Discover Holiday Cash Back Link which is 10%. Not as good of a deal, but at least it's a very reputable source.

I received the HF20 today. I have not tested it, but it's in a normal retail box with everything included.

At $390 delivered to my door, I think someone screwed up.

So now I have a collection of 20s...an HV, HG, and HF. Now I need to sell at least 2 of them.

So far no bids on my HG20....I don't know why.

Black Friday / Door buster sales are lies. Notice the keyword "limited inventory" I think it was a laptop for $299 last year. Apparently there were only 20 in the Birmingham market. I suppose it's legitimate if you like camping out at a mall door Thanksgiving night.
