the camcorder drivers (DVHS driver) link is no longer working![]()
So I love my hv30, and I love my macbook. I am wondering if there is a way to use my macbook screen to get my focus on shoots with my letus35 mini just right. As we all know the major setback for getting the focus correct is the pathetic size of this otherwise formidable video camera's LCD screen,.... if there is a way to simply use my monitor as a hooked of HD viewer of sorts I would be able to save another thousand dollars which you know, would be nice!![]()
I just want to say thanks to this board. I got my HV30 Wednesday. Before I bought it I did alot of reasearch and ran into a link to this site during that. Read this F.A.Q thread and started to get ready Monday. I bought a 4-6 firewire cable for 9 something and change. I downloaded HDVSplit but did not install. When I got the HV30 Wednesday I shot a short movie. I then installed HDVSplit and rebooted. I then plugged the 4-6 into the HV30 and the PC. Everything worked as stated. But I think that was in large part to the F.A.Q section here.. I work in a IS/IT department and very tech savy.
But even with tech knowledge this section made it simple.
Again Thanks!!!
Try VeeScope Live, or Adobe OnLocation.
There will be a delay between the action and your monitor, also you will need a fairly recent and powerful machine to run these programs.
How bout adding a link to the HV30 manual? Maybe an edit of item #14 to include links to both the HV20 & HV30?
Just a suggestion. I found it noted in another thread after a search but it seems like it should be in this faq/sticky for quick reference.
Thanks BTW, loads of good info in this thread!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what settings i should use in final cut pro from import to export, to have the best quality, I want to shoot a movie with my hv30 and I want to show it on a blu-ray and i want it to look as good as possible when it's time to show it, thanks!
ah im really glad i read this before askin alot of question that have been answered here!
mmm now im lookin into it i still have questions and have searched them but cant find them hahaha oh well ill post up and see what people say. thanks
it looks hard to be admin of a forum huge and good like this one. thanks for making it!
I think number 7 should be amended to mention that the HV30 can be modified now, and the HV20 may follow in the future:
7. Can a PAL HV20 be made into an NTSC one (or vice-versa)?
No. For best results, use the model appropriate to your region. However, adequate frame rate conversion can be performed by some video editing software some software (Sony Vegas, Virtual Dub, etc).

Ok thanks
