Yes, uBid was great MANY years ago. Cheap prices, awesome products, and low shipping.
Unfortunately, and probably due to eBay, this changed over the years. The first thing they changed was they started charging MUCH MUCH more for shipping, whereas before it was about at cost, they started to build some of their profit into shipping. It was at that point I stopped using them...

I agree also...I bought stuff back in 99'. Wow...time flies!!! the last time I bought something from them was about four years ago...and I did have a problem...they over charged me for shipping...they did give me credit...Woopy dooo to buy more stuff from them again. I never used it since it was only 10 bucks, if I recall.

Interesting...yes, e-bay rocks except the point they get a percentage for selling and also using their "paypal" option...they get more of your money since they own that too. Nice!!! Love how they endose the "ONLY PAYPAL" option. Crap...I say. Should be allowed to use other options.

It doesn't cost the buyer anything to buy on ebay and use paypal to check out..

and for the seller it's minimal.. being able to accept credit cards is going to cost a small percentage or flat fee anyway, and the fee from paypal is on par with most other payment gateways.

Hello, all!!
I ordered the last one from this deal this morning. I saw it last night after missing out on ecost's price of around $785 (they probably made a mistake) and ecost's price of $830 for the days before that. The shipping with uBid was $9.99 with a total of $828.99. It remains to be seen if they overcharge me, but that's what the order said.

They actually shipped it first thing this morning!!
The only problem is that they didn't respond to the e-mail I sent them right after I placed the order, saying that I accidentally used the wrong card. It's OKay, though; it looks like the card they used extends the warranty, too
