    Default Canon 7D? Or HV30 + Handy35

    Hi everyone,
I really want that shallow DOF but for a not so expensive cost.
I'm trying to decide between getting a Handy35 for my HV30 or should I get the Canon 7D? Or should I get something else?

If I were to get the 7D that would mean that I would end up selling my HV30 to help pay for the cost.

I've been wanting to get a DSLR for some time now. I've used D90, D60, D40, D2H and Rebel XTi from a few of my friends so I know a few things about how to use manual settings and I have done reading on lenses as well.
So my thinking is if I were to be getting a 7D, i'm sort of killing two birds with one stone right? I mean if I were to keep the HV30, get a Handy35 + lenses, on top of that getting a cheaper DSLR like the D40/Rebel I mean I would be saving a good amount of money while still satisfying my needs right?

Sorry for this longgg message, but I wanna hear your guys' opinions!

Get the 7D. If you're in the market for a DSLR and want both stills and video in the same device, go for it. Just be aware of the differences in using a DSLR for video work. I think the guys on the REDCentre podcast mentioned some peculiarities in operating (centre of gravity while panning i think).

I'm thinking of going the other route, cheaper DSLR (maybe 40/50D) for stills and my HV30/Raynox for video.

I was just about to order a handy35 but the cost ended up being around $900 which I felt was just too much, when for another $700 or so I could get the 7d. With the low light capabilities of the 7d there was no desire for me to keep using my hg10 and adapter and getting grainy images.
