I'm what you could call a "noob". I just got an HV30 and am confused as to how to capture and export the footage from it in the best quality possible. I use Final Cut Express on a mac book. Also I've heard a lot and seen a lot of footage in 24p but am confused to what it is and how to use it. Help would be greatly appreciated!

FCE doesn't like 24p without using magic.
However there's a trick to use iMovie, but you'll have to search (I use neither iMovie nor 24p)

You're right, you are a clueless noob. First rule of internet forums: read the FAQ. 2nd rule: always do a search before posting. We are more of a self-serve forum rather than an on-demand help desk.
