Default help! i cant figure out why all my footage has a motion blur effect to it...

i use an HV20 on the 24p setting and pull it in FCP as 1080 60i and export using the settings for vimeo high def, i end up getting these weird lines in the video and upon upload they are gone and make the video have a horrible blur effect to them.... vimeo.com/apk89/videos. please help, im currently using JES right now to see if it solves my problem. why cant camera companies JUST MAKE IT TRUE 24P? why the hell is the point to all this if it aint true 24P its just a big freakin hassle.

This is not a 24p workflow issue and has been moved.

Do you have a sample to show what you're talking about?

Ya, it sounds like you didn't remove pulldown or deinterlace or anything.

why cant camera companies JUST MAKE IT TRUE 24P?
    They do, read: HV40

never really considered pulldown removal much of a hassle.
i figure anyone using FCP should have some basic grasp of the concept and handle it easily. if you think 24p removal is a hassle, are you really cut out for FCP?
if you don't want to deal with it, buy and hv40 as stated above, or shoot 30p.

well, if you have final cut pro, why are you using JES and not compressor to reverse telecine?

i would have asked the same, but when someone says they are using fcp in that kind of condition, i always just kind of figure it's just fcp, and where they got it, it didn't come with the full suite, nudge nudge...know what i mean.

    just in general.

Also, if they don't have FCS2 or 3, Compressor can't remove the pulldown.

ha, excellent point. i guess if you're going to the trouble of removing pulldown, i'd assume you'd at least look around for a better pirated version of fcs.

For what it's worth, FCP and Compressor come on the same install disc (as well as the LiveType app, but not the support files). I would assume the most common method of distributing a pirated application would be a disc image. Even if it's just the installer, it would still contain the necessary information. Maybe if someone packaged just the app itself, then it wouldn't come with Compressor, but if that's the case, I doubt FCP would actually work.

I'm betting more that this person, whether using a legit copy or not, just didn't install Compressor or, like I said before, doesn't have a recent enough version to use it.

Anyway, to speak to the OP's question, look in the 24p section or search for JES on the forum. You'll find some walkthroughs on how to do it properly.
