HV30 trying to pull footage from HV20 tapes

I recorded footage on my HV20 and recently had to upgrade to an HV30 after it took a dive on the pavement. I have 4-5 tapes of footage I am looking to pull over to my computer once the replacement gets here. Is this possible at all? Or do I have to use the same model camera?

all models, HV20, HV30, and HV40 all tape in the same manner, tapes you used in your HV20 will world flawlessly in your HV30
