Question Duplicate Frame issue on Sony Vegas

I film in 24fps and remove pulldown using the TMPGenc method. On my footage in the Sony Vegas timeline, I move through each frame one by one to make sure that there is a unique frame for every frame but certain clips have duplicate frames. I cannot figure out if this is a Capturing issue or a TMPGenc one. Can anyone shine some light on this situation?

Probably a TMPGenc one, IF your project properties are correct on Vegas.

Try using the best preview mode.
Tape is ungood! Interlacing is double ungood!

Any way to solve this? I have been removing pulldown with your method (free one) before and have run into no problems except very large lagarith files which is why I switched to TMPGenc. I have tried removing pulldown again with the same method through TMPGenc twice and it is still giving me duplicate frames on certain clips.

And I have tried previewing on BEST Full mode and still getting some duplicate frames every few seconds.

EDIT: AHAHHAHAHHHHHHHHHHH RESOLVED SOMEHOW! I used Vegas 9 and am now not getting any duplicate framage. This is a really weird problem. I even reinstalled vegas 8 and am still getting that duplicate frame problem with it whereas in 9 it is perfect... Still need an explanation...

I did use the same project file to compare between the two versions so the project settings should be exactly the same.

Actually... I am still getting these duplicate frames, even in Vegas 9 now. What am I doing wrong? I imported the same file into After Effects and there are no duplicate frames.

Well, are your project properties correctly set? Upload a screenshot of that dialog. Also, shoot 3 seconds of something that's moving fast, remove pulldown, and upload somewhere the specific pulldown-removed file, so I can download it and check it out here.

Ok I will upload all the needed files in a minute. Where should I upload them, just mediafire?

Here are the files. The "Movie_97" file is the one with pulldown removed with the tmpgenc method posted on the forum. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=3...e6ba49b5870170

Ok, so. I get absolutely no duplicated frames on Vegas 9. I think your project properties are wrong. Upload a screenshot of that dialog please, on the project you are using these files.

The project settings are already in the uploaded folder http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.p...jd342y&thumb=6

EDIT: And just to clarify, I am using Vegas Pro 9 and not platinum.

Your project properties are correct, although you can try putting deinterlacing to None if all the footage there is progressive. So, I don't get any duplicated frames.

Put the clip in question in its own project and retry to see if there are duplicated frames with the same project properties. If you don't get duplicated frames anymore, it means that vegas freaks out at some point on complex projects, in which case you need to file a ticket with Sony.

I just tried importing the footage separately on a vegas timeline and there are no duplicate frames... Hmmm, that is a weird bug. I'm gonna try to boot up this timeline into xp and see what happens.

I think what you are experiencing is a real Vegas bug. You gotta send your project file to Sony along maybe that file. Upload your project file too (without any more files.)

As of now, I am just going to dual boot XP and try opening the project from XP and I'll see how it goes.
