Default Anyone used this on a Canon HF/HG series camcorder?

    Hi,

Intending to get a WA lens for my HG20. Saw this on ebay - price looks quite good for something made by Canon, and this guy is in my city, so no shipping cost. However, its NIB, so I can't test it out. The link is here:

Has anyone used this specific lens before on a Canon HF/HG series camcorder? I know wide angle lenses are one of the hottest topics here and I have searched this and other forums, but I haven't found anything specific relating to this. I know the WD-H37 II is recommended, but I haven't heard anything on the original WD-H37.

    Thanks.

Your link doesn't work. I suspect this is what you're looking at:

I use the 43mm version on my HV20. It's a great lens -- not too much chromatic aberration, reasonably sharp AND zoom through. However, it does produce barrel distortion.

It's actually built for the MVX150xi (something along that line), but apparently has some difference from the WD-H37C and WD-H37 II recommended for the Canon HF/HG series.

*questions whether to bite the bullet*

I have been using the WD-H43 with great results with my HG10 and with the step up ring it works great on my HG21 as well, I basically leave it on whatever camcorder I am using all the time.....
