    Default New Batch Intermediate Creator

    VDub-BIC version 1.0

This batch intermediate creation utility uses VirtualDub to encode your intermediate and/or proxy files. All codecs you have available in VirtualDub you can choose and configure with this utility. Also uses ffdshow to decode your source files and Avisynth to frameserve to VirtualDub. See the enclosed readme for links.

Please don't remove the previous version from your site that's linked from my pulldown removal tutorials (which have over 200 hits a day). Adding virtualdub to the mix complicates stuff for the tutorials, so I would like to link to the older version.

The other won't be removed. Though in the tradition of Microsoft, I released this version without thorough testing. Fixing a problem in sylwriter.exe introduced a bunch of other bugs.

Do not download VDub-BIC-v10.zip until further notice.

    Default Bugs fixed

VDub-BIC v1.0 bugs fixed. (Too soon for v1.1)

    This is the further notice.
    Please re-download and replace VDub-BIC.exe and sylwriter.exe

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Reading the readme.txt I come upon ...

"...write the script that VirtualDub uses to encode your intermediate and proxy
    files."

And it becomes obvious there is a presumed knowledge problem I'm facing.

Is there a tutorial that a caveman could follow?

    Thanks,

    Steve

You might want to try my newer Batch Intermediate Creator. It doesn't require Virtualdub. The link is in my signature.

As to your question regarding my Vdub-BIC utility, the program writes the scripts for you on the fly. If you want to modify the Avisynth templates you'll need to learn the Avisynth scripting language, but straight out of the box, my utility doesn't need you to write any scripts. Just make sure you have a directshow decoder for the type of video file you are working with (ffdshow can decode many formats), you have Avisynth installed and working, and you have Virtualdub installed.

    Thanks Khavar,

It seems I'm most of the way there with Vdub-BIC but with one problem. (See attachment)
My source files are MTS pf24 from an HF100.

What are your thoughts after seeing the attachment?

Here's the result using the new one. Full Frames uncompressed. ( see attached )

Can you help me with either version?

All I want to do is convert MTS to avi with no quality loss.

    Thanks!

This is exactly my problem. I was following your tutorials and when I went to download the batch creator it was no longer available. I need to remove pulldown from HV20 PF24 footage and convert it to Avid DNxHD.
