Default Smooth slow motion from 50i clips?

I've searched the forum, but found mostly 24p suggestions, so can someone either point me to a thread, or suggest a workflow which can change a 50i clip so that each field becomes one frame, i.e. a 50% slow-motion effect. As I see it, you can't do it directly in FCE.

I have tried JES, but it can't even open any of my clips, I get "Error # -2003"

Are you using the latest version of JES? Have you tried repairing permissions, emptying cache files, deleting prefs, etc?
No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a significant number of electrons were slightly inconvenienced.

nattress makes a solution called G Fields and Frames that does exactly what you need, i believe.

    Yes, just downloaded it...

I think I have figured it out, but I'm not 100% sure:

JES doesn't seem to accept a AIC-coded file dragged straight out of a media package - I need to save it as a .mov file on the desktop (or somewhere else) first. Will have to experiment more, to be sure that's the problem, but I did get it to work and the scene done...

    Thanks for the hints!

    By using JES. Workflow:

In Project window, choose deinterlace from drop-down menu.
    Choose "Both fields"
    Check "Double movie duration"
Check "Move top field down one pixel"

This made a 25p slow-mo sequence of the original 50i, each field became one frame.

Importing that into FCE, I had what I wanted.
