    Question Organizing footage?

What software do you use to organize all of your footage? Is there an app specifically for organizing/categorizing/tagging/etc raw footage?

And yes, I am looking for something Mac-compatible.

you might want to look up catdv, i've heard good things about it.

I just take project folders and move them to an archive drive and hand catalog them in a database if i need them in the future. not the best way, i am sure, but it works. and it's free.

Gotta second Dearcatastrophe here, keeping multiple 'legacy' drives with finished projects is simple and relatively inexpensive (and, if you are a FCP user, since all of the indexed materials have to go in, you will have quick access to your master footage).

You mean NOT the way iMovie 09 organizes clips into events, keywords, and projects? You can use it as your organizer and then, without duplicating files, use the footage for FCE or FCP, I suppose.
