    Default Speaking of cool lights

I wouldn't mind having a couple of these. I think they're only about $2400 each. Take the tour. The light looks pretty impressive for a unknowlegeable guy like me about lighting.

    Whatcha think guys.

On the other hand maybe I'll wait and see what Mal comes up with.

It doen't hurt to dream a little I guess. A friend of my once told me if you can dream it up really good in your head, you can make it happen.

I'm at a shoot. "What did that light cost you Bluegrass?". It was about $2400. "How about that tripod?". Oh, I got a good deal on that at Best Buy for $29.95. "Wow, that was a bargain." "How bout that fancy looking camera rig?" Oh, that's a 35mm Letus Mini adaptor with 15mm rails, a built in flip module, a Canon EOS 70 to 200mm lens, a custom built hidef montior, and a tekeon battery to power it all. Including the Canon HV30, it set me back about $3400. But since I got that tripod for only $29.95 at Walmart, I think I made out like a bandit.

What do some of you guys got tied up in your rig? If any of you jump on this new one foot square multipurpse litepanel light, let us know what you think.

Those big LitePanels are really cool for a whole host of reasons: Meryem (the A camera DP for Raw Meat) has the four 12x12 kit (dimmable, but 5600K only). Yeah, cheap it is not, but it's also got to be just about the most compact, rugged, quick to set up and strike, go anywhere soft light kit available (heck, they even run on batteries if need be).

I like the lightnest (no pun intended) and the battery operation. Competion has got to bring something like these down to a reasonable price sometime. There just can't be more than a couple hundred dollars in parts in one of these. How about it, you DYIers.

    Yeah, wait for it.
    Your wishes shall be granted!
(although don't dismiss costs of quality parts! I'm about to re-buy potentiometers, at US$7.80 each!)
