rkhanso, your website is rather difficult to navigate! Should we just pay to your paypal in your OP and put our shipping info and product preferences there?

You can send money via PayPal. Or, you can order from my website HERE.
Or PM me and tell me what you want to order - helpful if you do this before you send money so we can be clear on what you want.

I'm not a website design guy. Just installed pre-made software to get something there.

    Hi,
I just ordered one of your controllers. Really glad to stumble upon this forum now. I noticed a discrepancy in the connector sizes w/ the extendable on your Joomla site: text says 2.5mm, diagram says 3.5mm. I'm going to guess it's the standard LANC size of 2.5mm? Also, you may be aware, but your photos were not being served on the shop cart site when I was there so I thought I'd let your know. Nonetheless, I checked-out just fine. Thanks & looking forward to using it, cheers. Kip

    oh yea:

Think this is unanswered from first page (years ago now): the HF S100 IR receiver is located on the LCD panel which allows me to point the panel/receiver where I can usually hit it at 20-25 feet. However, my control rm is in an upstairs loft so I'm a best-case I would think.

I may start making these for the Canon DSLR / 2Ti / 3Ti / 7D, etc....if anyone is interested. There's another thread on the trade/exchange portion of the forum.
    Contact me if you're interested.

Kip, I've been trying to contact you (email and voicemail) - you didn't tell me how long you wanted the extension cable. Reply to the email or voicemail or here on the forum with the length and I'll get it shipped out ASAP.

Yes I am still selling these. I apologize about the PayPal problem on my website. After a shopping cart software upgrade, it broke the PayPal payment option.
I will get that fixed some day.
Chad, I did reply to your inquiry on the website.

I'm still selling these remotes, but my website will be offline for a while. I am going to re-make my website for a different business, but when finished, will still have a place to order the remotes.

In the meantime, if you'd like to order one send me an email to sales at makarios dot us or PM me from hv20.com. Warning: if you PM me, I may not answer you for a couple days.

I've decided to stop making these. It's been quite some time since anyone has asked for one. I think people must be switching to DSLRs.

I may look into making a similar device for the T2i / T3i cameras (which I think may also work on other DSLRs). If that happens, I'll make a new post.

Thanks to all of you from around the world that have purchased one of these devices from me.

Default Picture of Lanc control for HV40

I came up with a pretty decent solution (I think so, anyway) for the lack of LANC on the HV20/30/40. It's really a copy of other ideas on the hv20.com forum.

What you get: a brand new from Canon WL-D87 remote (battery included) hacked to work as a LANC controller, a plate to mount between your camera and tripod mount with a LED holder, to.....hold the LED. The IR-LED is removed from the remote and extended on some wire so it can mount in front of the camera, pointed at the IR-LED receiver. You can see that the plate is straight. I thought about bending it up, to point it more directly at the IR receiver - but then it would start to interfere with the IRVB focus ring, and there wasn't much leeway for gaps/angles. I found that there is no need to have the LED point any more directly at the receiver - it works great as shown.

I was using the TOS-Link cable, but found that way to be pretty unreliable - had to be adjusted just right to get it to work. It wasn't reliable for me, anyway. This design is rock-solid and works ALL the time. In my design, the LED mounts into the holder with a rubber plug, plus I've added some heat-shrink tubing to make it even more secure. The wire is about 2 feet long, which should suit most situations.

The mounting plate works with the IRVB focus ring installed. It's a tight fit, but there's a couple millimeter leeway that allows the plate to be mounted and still point at the IR receiver. I don't forsee any trouble with the mount of the plate/LED and other accessories that may be used - though I obviously can't imagine all the possible scenarios that people will run into. The prototype shown below doesn't have it, but I'll put either a thin rubberish material on the plate where the camera mounts, or will coat the entire plate in a rubber/plastic - type material. The plate is 20 gauge galvanized and should be around .036 thick. My tripod mount plate still has enough thread to make it through the plate and hold the camera secure. I wanted to make the plate strong enough to not bend easily, yet not be too thick to cause problems placing it between tripod plate and camera with enough threads in the 1/4" bolt to grab and hold.

I thought about a mount for the remote onto the tripod, but with all the different tripods and ways that people have them set up, decided there's not a best way to do that. Velcro would work nicely. Duct tape would work, too... Mount to your preferences
