Default Blackmagic Intensity card an editing accelerator?

Sorry if this has already been answered (I looked, I swear) or if I am asking an obvious question but does the Blackmagic Intensity card accelerate editing performance (a la the Matrox RT.X2) or simply just provide an HDMI output while editing? (Note, footage will already have been captured via Firewire from camera and not thru HDMI via Blackmagic card)

    Thanks,

RT.X2 is an acceleration card. It speeds up rendering time too.

Sorry for the sales pitch, I have two RT.X2 cards that I need to sell one. PM me if interested.

Ah, that's what I thought but wanted to be sure before I did an impulse buy.

    Thanks everyone,
