    does anyone use these cavision rails for their hv20 + adapter? how well does it fit with the HV20?

    I bought these to save me money. They are very durable, adjustable, and work very well with the HV20 (and would for most camcorders I think). Make sure you order the rail length you want. My rails are short, but so is my camera and it accommodates my adapter perfectly!

    sorry for this newbie question but for what are rails actually for?
    can i mount it on a tripod and then slide the cam back and forth? or what's the use of it?

    For stabilitiy if adding a telextender or a 35mm adapter.
