Buying in the US (from Europe)

Hi Collegues,

I saw some relatively cheap Canon hv30 kit sets on e-bay.
My question; is this also usable in Europe (videotype) and why is the kit so cheap?
I pay in Europe 700 euro's for the camera alone.
I will mail the seller too. But I don't ask the barman if the beer is good.

Don't forget that you'll have to pay VAT and custom charges when you import from the States! (apart from the PAL/NTSC issue).
