Default Canon EOS 40D lens on a Canon HV30

Hey ya'll, as a present from my wife, she ordered me a Canon EOS 40D SLR Camera! I know.... she rocks!! Anyways, has anybody tried slapping the stock 28mm-135mm lens that the Canon EOS 40D kit comes with? If so, what adapters would I need to get in order to use this lens with my Hv30? Thanx everybody for being awesome and knowing your camera techy stuff. Unlike the ones that pretend they know what they are talking about......(cough) Circuit City.

    Search for 35mm DOF adapter.

Okay, so I have done some reading from the forums you have directed me to. So my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong, is that the HV30 CAN use the lenses as long as they are EF and NOT EF-S? The EOS that is coming in the mail does in fact come with an EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens. Feel free to call me an idiot as I just need to know if what I stated was correct.

you can only use ANY 35mm lens if you - buy, build or hire a 35mm DOF adaptor..

EF lenses don't allow direct aperture adjustment (using 35mm adaptors) but FD lenses do..

Well you'll still need to buy or build a lens adapter. The lens is the easy part.

So with the stock EOS 40D lens I'm getting, what adapter do I need to get in order to make it work with my HV30?

You just need any 35mm adapter with a built in EOS mount. Search the Jag35 on this forum.
