    Default made my own hoodie!

I went from last night posting in Jehu's jag35 thread asking him what that nylon thing was around his LCD screen, to figuring it out by myself from browsing the forum and making my own today in about 20 minutes!
I searched for places to buy one, and decided that I liked the cinetactics one best because of the durability, and it's a good fit for what type of gear I usually gravitate towards.

    http://www.cinetactics.com/Detail.bok?no=24

I will be mainly using my camera outdoors in the field a lot, filming sportbike freestyle and bowhunting trophy game so that was important to me that it be tough enough to handle it and seve it's purpose well.
It didn't look too hard to make, and I knew I had some stuff laying around, So here is my first DIY thread on the site!!!!

I had a newer API treestand harness that had straps for your legs and they had padding sewed on the inside of the webbing that a piece of was going to work well for the strap goin around the back of the LCD. And I never use the leg straps anyways, so it didn't bother me to cut 'em off! LOL

I also had a knife sheath that I never use that has soft material on the inside, a thick layer of rubberized or teflon padding or something sewed in between the soft padding on the inside and the thick nylon webbing that is on the outside. So, I grabbed up some sew-on velcro, a good needle, some heavy duty black nylon thread, a good knife and a hot glue gun.

I used the hot glue gun to tack it all in place so I could fit it and then sew it all together easier.

The strap around the back is really soft so it shouldn't be too rough on my LCD... It's fully adjustable, and it just needs to find it's shape and it'll be fine! It ended up a little deeper than the cinetactics one, but I like it, it should make the LCD relatively easier to view even on the brightest of days.

so that is it.. What do ya'll think of my DIY hoodie!?! LOL

I just had the stuff layin around like I said, so why not save $35.? Now I'll spend about an hour sewing it all up by hand and then I'll probably iron the sides where I want the corners to bend better and call it good!

And FYI on my DIY, I am bit by the bug bad!
I just took delivery of this HV30 on wed the 11th!! LOL Only other acessory I have is a Pol. filter... but I can tell already that the more I search around and learn stuff, the more of that stuff that I want to buy too!! So yea.... I got it baaaad... LOL

I was thinking one of those old $3 nylon wallets I used to carry around in the 80s would be perfect. Just slap on some velcro. I wonder if you can still find those around somewhere.

Yep, most skate and/or surf shops have them for the kiddies who weren't there first time around.

    Thanks everyone!!

and pretty close on my handgun, to be specific.. it's an tactical 45Gap XDLE that has ben heavily breathed on, and the tac light is actually an M6x from insight technologies...http://www.insightlights.com/products-m6x.htm

and Burtoe... yes, there are a few tattoo MACHINES in the background!! FYI a true tattoo artist doesn't call them "guns" because guns are for destroying, and I do nothing but create with these so they are tattoo "machines" to be correct! LOL
I Ben doin tattoo's for 17 years now, I started way back when I was in college for commercial art, I like it...

Now I own my own painting and remodelling company and work is slow as hell! my tattooing clientel is increasing faster than ever now though!! It's confusing to me with the economy being so crappy, but I ain't asking questions nor am I complaining

I actually did a larger tattoo for the money for my HV30 to be completely candid and honest!! And about an hour ago I had a guy come over and drop a big ol deposit for his entire sleeve tattoo (wrist to shoulder) and that should help with bills AND buy my JagPro while I'm at it!!!

and the grip tape that I used was not from a skateshop, but cut out of a big 3' long sheet that has a reflective strip in it from home depot meant to be used for stair treads. It was grippier with the size of the grip on the tape, and the glue was stickier. We all used to use it on our gas tank dents on our stuntbikes like you may haver seen in gurustunt member's video's he uploaded.
He's another 30 owner, and a member of this forum that is also a buddy of mine... HE actually referred me to get on here in the first place!
Now most of us use surfboard deck grip pads... they don't tear up so many pairs of jeans, and it still works well even when wet! It just looks better too IMO. but it works on my pistol grips and the HV30.. basically any polymer piece of thousand dollar plus equipment that get's slick when your hands are sweaty and trying to hold onto it!

Here's a couple shots of my practice bike I built, but no shots of the tank if anyone likes that sort of thing>>
