    Default Gy-hm700!

This camera looks amazing, the only problem(along with the HM100, previously discussed) is still the 1/3 sensors. However the other features are amazing. http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/f...&feature_id=01

The 4.3" 800 x 480 LCD would eliminate most needs for an external monitor.

But the $8000 price tag depresses me. I wish it wasn't just a dream for me.

The spot exposure meter, the way they handle focus assist, the native FCP formatting (and the variety of formats) are all impressive. It's a very sweet camera.

    Default Love at first sight?

Other than the sensor size, and sticker price, it looks awesome... maybe it's time to eat some crow about JVC's products.

While MSRP is just under 8, I expect retail to be around 6.5 shortly. The EX1 MSRP is 7,790 and retail is just over 6.

See? I saved you nearly two grand for your dream camera.

So it looks like launch retail will be $6,995 with a Canon 14x lens or a Fujinon 17x lens, and $500 less with no lens.

They're offering SxS for $500, which is needed to record using XDCAM EX.

    You da man!

Now I just gotta come up with 6 grand. Of course, you could have gotten it down to 3 grand and I still couldn't afford it at the moment. Looks great though.

I feel for ya, bro. You could be living in Canada (like me) and be faced with $9500 price for the new JVC. Tiny markets like ours and minimal competition amongst dealers means everything desirable goes for close to MSRP.

Yeah the canon one they offer is better, but that's more cash.
