Default 2 New Wedding Trailers: HV30

Just posted two new wedding trailers on our blog:

    http://www.PacificPicturesblog.net

    (or on Vimeo: http://www.vimeo.com/pacificpictures)

Quite a bit of HV30 on both - going for similar motifs with this round of clips. Tried to put focus on moments other than vows for a bit of a departure from convention. Enjoy!

FRANK & CHARLENE: all prep was done with an HV30 + Brevis set-up: Canon FD primes, 85/1.8 and 50/2.0 Macro. Select interior reception shots were HV30 on Steadicam Pilot. Everything else: XHA1. Ceremony & reception lit with an Arri 650.

JAMES & AMBER: again, all prep with an HV30 + Brevis; same lenses. The rest XHA1. Reception lit with an Arri 1k.

    Thanks for watching!

Default Every so often a perfect diamond is discovered.

Wow, Kevin. That was incredible! You are one very creative and talented individual.

I watched both trailers and the Bollywood concept event as well as read the DV article. Very impressive and inspiring! And I have to tell you there's not much I've seen that has moved me like this.

You've set a new high bar for event videography that I dare say, can't be matched by too many others. In fact, you may have just changed the way I feel about doing event videography altogether. I've always refused it in the past preferring to work in a scripted environment instead.

If you would, please PM me with the approximate cost for doing something like this. Just as a frame of reference and better understanding of what this niche market will bear. Not exact figures if you don't want to reveal that but just some approximates would be very much appreciated.

You have definitely inspired me! Already added your blog to my favorites and intend to stay tuned regularly.

    Awesome work! Kudos!

    Thanks,
    Mike

Mike, that is a tremendous compliment. Nothing pleases me more than knowing my work inspires other filmmakers. I'm glad a production guy like you is willing to take a second look at shooting live events. Believe me, my start was pride swallowing. But more filmmakers like you are needed to help elevate the industry. So much is possible.

    Thanks man, and keep shooting.

    Best,

    Very nice, Kevin.
Some of those speeches sound a little too polished for location audio, did you do some ADR?

WOW what a great video! I would love to know your settings for the hv30. You are truly talented. THE BEST movie demo I've seen. Did you attach a light to any of the cameras?

Just ehh... ahhh.. ehh... WOW !
    Loved it !
Steadycamwork is awesome, the only thing i was wondering the whole time... didn't you annoyed the photographers with your running trough their perfect shot?

Really like the low light shots, and these movies made me tingle inside..

These are actual wedding videos, albeit elevated to a new art form.

Sorry that's what a meant. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word demo, it made it sound "fake"

Great work! You've got all the elements of a well made movie captured during a crazy-hectic live event. As a wedding videographer myself, I can appreciate how much hard work and creativity goes into your demos. Beautifully done.

    the 180 pans are breathtaking.

It seems like this filmmaker cares about more than profit.. that's my impression from viewing his works.

My impression was more like "this videographer is EXPENSIVE..."

Excellent work. How did you get ahead of the marching couple running on sand?
    Great editing.

    Default Wow!

This is top notch wedding work! I recently started shooting and editing weddings, but I also am a professional video editor and compositor. This is very great work, and I just wanted to say thanks for posting it! Also, this has given me even more confidence in the HV30 and its awesome possibilities too. Thanks again!
