    Default My First Short Film

    Hey Everybody,

Here is my first short film! It was shot on an HV20 and an HF100.

Great job, it's got a real Tarantino feel to it. Only crit is that there is a couple of times where the guy on the left seems over exposed.

Well done, keep up the good work.

    Hi Pzanna,

Thanks so much! I'm a big Tarantino fan, so that's a huge complement!

You're right on the overexposure. Sometimes things just get away from ya...

Jed, I got to say that this is one of the best pieces I've watched recently (I've said that about some other folks work...but the quality of work by folks here just keeps getting better and better...and this is no exception). Everything was just well executed (from the opening credits to the ending). I felt like I was watching an excerpt from a longer feature. Like I echoed on my Vimeo response "Every project you work on is exponentially better than the last. Good story, good composition, good editing". . Man.... it helps to have good actors who can deliver a great performance. Based on your previous work I don't think any of us should be surprised by the outcome.

I agree with the Tarantino remark above...that's exactly the type of feel I got from this. I'm looking forward to seeing what you dish out next. Great job.

Dude, that was nice! The acting was totally believable. I actually started to get butterflies as it went and I was glad you didn't have the poor schmuck in the chair get whacked. The way you ended it was perfect.

I started looking at footage on this forum. I think I looked two and I wasn't super impressed, and then I came to this thread. I'm so glad I did. The acting was incredible, very few people can use jump shots correctly, and the dialogue was so incredibly rich. There was a line about "Taking out the garbage" that reminded me of Michael Clayton which is nothing bad, I just thought it was cool.

My only comment (and it has been mentioned before) was that some of the shots were overexposed but that is such a small thing and in no way does it detract from the overall feel of the film.

    Great job.

EDIT: Oh yea, the soundtrack was amazing as well.

    Hi Luxaltor,

Thanks for watching - I'm really glad to hear that you dug the movie! As far as the Michael Clayton reference, I'm all for it. I loved that movie.

I'm also really glad you dug the soundtrack. If you're interested, you can hear more from the people on the sountrack at myspace.com/fronttowardsenemychicago and vimeo.com/poolhouseguru
