    Default No Mic sound!!

    I got my hv30 two months ago and it works great..i also sometime attach the Rode videomic to it..but not always.
    Two days ago when i was filming without the rode..just the camera's mic, i noticed that there is no sound coming into the camera...the levels are not moving at all and when i captured the footage there was no sound...just a bzzzzzzzzzz sound. i dunno know whats the problem..does anybody have any clue?

    Have you tried plugging the Rode mic in to see if you can get audio that way. If so, the contacts that kill the internal mics audio may not have returned to the original position.

    If not, then you likely have something gone bad in the mic or internal pre-amp gone bad.

    If you get audio with the Rode then unplug it and see if having connected the mini jack cleared the proablem.

    Important that you either check the audio input level on the LCD visually or even better check with headphones at least when setting up for a shot. I keep headphones in my bag and won't do any video without both visually checking the meter and seeing how the level sounds with headphones.

    Yeah i put the Rode videomic and i get sound, but when i unpluugged it and use the camera's internal mic, there is no sound!! i dont know whats wrong!

    If you don't have sound after unplugging the Rode, the internal contacts hang. Try tapping the camera's right side with your knuckle. If that doesn't help I'm afraid you'll need to send in the camera for repair. On the other hand, the Rode is in general better than the internal mic...
