I agree that the videos around 10 minutes or less seem appropriate for this project. The documentaries could be anything from showing a little bit of any of the following your comfortable with showing: your domicile, neighborhood, city, hobby, yourself, family, etc. If there are some budding actors out there, they could incorporate a short audition showing what they got. I'd like to see it have no time limit on when to complete a video but have it a continuing process of building a library of autobiographies of our members. If once you posted a video for this project, you wanted to replace it with a new one, you could PM a moderator or administrator to edit a new link for you since there is a time limit on how long you have to edit your own posts. This would give some flexibility but not let someone have multiple videos posted in this special thread.
The question would be, where is the best place for hosting the files. I would say that there shouldn't be any restrictions on format of the files. Let everyone determine which works best for themselves. I think everyone who participates would want to create the best that they could but I personally wouldn't want it to be a contest for the best documentary so that beginners to the more advanced videographers would feel at ease in working on such a project.
J Inwood: Ditto. I think a lot of us are shy in front of the camera or microphone. But we have the power in making this video to keep ourselves off or on the camera however much we want. Be creative when it comes to being shy about it. I say as soon as we decide on a location for the videos, go ahead and post it and the link to it here until we figure out if there is enough interest to warrant creating a sticky for this project in the "footage" forum.
