Default Should I leave my computer alone when capturing?

Hey, I'm importing via HV Split and was wondering if it was wise to use my computer while it was running. Since I have HV Split to "Stop capture on dropped packets \frames", this means that it will automatically stop if my computer hiccups right?

I'd hate to have any hiccups in my footage. The majority of the time I'm going to leave my computer alone. On some occasions, I'd like to use it at the same time.

    Thanks for any tips!

With the "Stop capture" option it's safe. Most computers shouldn't have problems with doing something else while importing, it's not more stressful than DV capturing which was handled by PCs and Macs more than ten years ago.

When capturing through Vegas, I've had it choke a little and start a new clip but I don't think that I lost any frames. It was just annoying because then while editing I had to connect the clip on the timeline. Not a biggie.

It probably depends mostly on your computer though.

    Best,
