Looked really good overall. It leaned more toward feeling like an actual film than an amateur film, so that's a good job. The sniper rifle looked impressive too.
Only thing I'd say is that there were so many "dum, dum, dum" (I'll call them "trailer drum" sounds) in the first 30 seconds of the video I almost laughed out loud.
It looks quite good though. If this is feature-length and keeps a consistent hook on the audience throughout, this could probably get the director hired by a producer for a larger budget production.

Thanks for the response! You know, it's funny, I thought there were a few to many "dum, dum, dum's" also. I asked some people I knew(that I could trust) if there were to many and they said no. But maybe they are not so trust worthy after all:-)
Actually it is not a full length film. Run time is about 20-25min. But it has a great story. Of course I would say that. It could be a full length movie but we managed to compress it to less than a half hour without the story being to rushed.
Anyway, thanks again! Cheers, DC
its nice but i would of used a tripod cause theres a lot of shaky footage during the stationary shots
looks good, i liked the text effect too.
The hand held style was something we decided to do early on in pre-production. There are a few tripod shots in the film but they are very rare. We went with the HV20/RedRock M2 for the small size. There was alot of running and jumping involved for the camera work. Even a few spills during the shoot. It was a very interesting shoot. But the style proved to be very affective for the storyline. Thanks, DC.
Some of those shots are money! Way to go!
It looks good, but there are a few too many shaky shots. But keep it up, looks good so far.
I can't get over how awesome your name is for a director.
Dalton Coffey.
I'd give you an Academy Award just for that.
Well Thank You! I would gladly accept...
"I would like to thank my family...and the Academy" :-)
Dalton,
I liked your trailer. I have to agree on the dum dums though. I was thinking the same thing before I even saw anyone else mention it. That's just a very minor detail though. Everything else was intriguing.
What is your background, education, etc.?
Take care,
Trey
I enjoyed that a lot...really great. Bravo!
Thanks for the comments!
Trey,
My background is music. I am a bluegrass musician and have been most of my life. That is how I have made my living. I was traveling and playing by the time I was 15. I was home schooled so that helped my music a lot. My father is a full time Banjo player. That's what he does for a living. Runs in the family I guess :-) Right now I am filming for a church. Lots of commercials and shorts. I have been writing full length features for a number of years now. So I decided to make a movie(starting short of course) and came up with the story for "The Asset" and went with it. I couldn't be happier. Thanks Again.
Cheers, DC
Very cool.
Keep going.
Trey
yeah, thats an impressive trailer. some of the hand held was maybe a little too much, but thats just being over picky. nice overall look to the footage, and i thought the edit was excellent. good work!
Nice job! reminds me of the Bourne Identity :P
Thanks Guys for the feedback!
Yeah I have had mixed reviews on the hand held shooting style. I will say this... It was extremely difficult to shoot this way. Pulling focus was a nightmare. But we got it done(just barely). The movie itself does have a good pace to it. The feedback I have got from my few screenings is that is seems like they got 2 hours worth of story in less than a half hour. But it wasn't rushed. I think that's good![]()
As far as the "Bourne" reference, I will take that as a compliment.
I will be posting a website for the film soon. Actually it will be out in Feb on DVD with some special features(production stuff, yada yada) and a couple other "shorter shorts" I have done.
Cheers, DC
I might be a in the minority but I liked those shakey handheld shots. it just so happens that I liked the Bourne flicks also...and as some others mentioned this had that kind of feel to it. I would like to see a little more contrast in the final CC...but so far so good.

I liked the editing on the trailer.

WHo is he chassing/running after? or are they chasing him? that wasn't clear to me... All I saw was a guy who likes running down the street.
8.5/10
That is Vic , and he's chasing after Filmwonder....

We joked about that during the entire production. "Run run run run run run run run run bike run run run bike bike run". There is a story I promise:-) It is more of a teaser trailer really. Should have stated that better I guess. The shots where there is dialogue are the important parts. The rest is just fluff I suppose. And he is chasing the "bad guys" fyi. And I promise, the best stuff in the film never made it into the trailer. Cheers, DC
Well done!
Don't talk, SHOOT.
Technically, It looks very professional... shaky camera is popular in this genre and a matter of taste. But where's your hook? All it says is that this is an action flick. Is that enough to motivate me to watch the movie? Probably not.
Best of luck with the feature, I'm sure it's very good.
Cheers,
