    Default Sony Vegas Capture question

I have Sony Vegas Pro 8. I have a standard definition DV I've captured and it's saved as an AVI file. It looks goods for SD, but is that the best/least compressed way to capture, or should I try again with different settiings? Thanks.

Capturing is a 1-to-1 copy of what's on the tape. AVI is an uncompressed format, so it doesn't get any better than that.

Your right in saying capture is 1:1, so no quality is lost.

Your wrong in saying that avi is uncompressed. DV-avi is compressed 5:1, but that's just the way it is. There is no improving on direct capture however........
