They are easy to make, led lighting arrays, the trick is having them reliable, compact and sturdy. To make a replica LP at home it'd be the plastic mouldings that would have me beat.

So I use the housings from twin halogen auto spotlights; the type that normally use MR16's. I replace those halogen MR16's with these, or something similar and solder onto the wires two RCA jacks, one for each light;

Then wire a rheostat into a piece of cable that you'll use to connect lights with batteries.
