Today, the port of Singapore continues to be among the top five busiest ports in the world.[22][23] The World Bank ranks Singapore as the world's top logistics hub.[24]
Singapore enjoys a very high standard of living. The Economist Intelligence Unit in its "Quality-Of-Life Index" ranks Singapore as having the best quality of life in Asia and eleventh overall in the world.[25] Mercer in its "Quality of Living Survey 2010" ranks Singapore as the best Asian city to live in over its nearest competitor, Tokyo.[26]
Singapore is the fourth wealthiest country in the world in GDP (PPP) per capita terms, and twentieth wealthiest in terms of GDP (nominal) per capita. Despite Singapore's relatively small physical size, the country has the world's ninth largest foreign reserves.[27][28] The Singapore Armed Forces are the most technologically advanced and well-equipped in the region.[
