    Default GT35pro Elite Test Chart

Alot of folks have been asking about the GT35pro Elite. The GT35pro Elite is for use with bigger cams like FX1 / Z1 / Z7 / V1 / XH-A1 / DVX100 / HVX20oa. Here is a res chart showing consistent sharpness throughout the entire frame and also the absence of chromatic abberation in the image. This reschart was shot on my HV20 step-up to accomodate the Elite. It was not bright when I shot this chart and also used a cheap zoom canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Rebel Kit lens so there was alot of light loss from the lens hence the darker edges. You can also soo some grain from the HV20. The main purpose is to demonstrate the consistent sharpness throughout the picture. This is the lowest cost among 35mm adapters for large/prosumer camcorders with good image quality.

Greg, Could you post a pic of the res chart shot with a naked HV, just for comparison? I know there's some clarity loss, just wondering how much of a tradeoff.

Love your professional design and especially those cool acrylic rods!!

This is very cool. How is your upside down mount with the handle coming along? I have been looking into the Shrigg Rig, but the fact that it doesn't have a handle has me continuing to shop around. The Shigg is so affordable though at $109. What sort of price will your upside down/handle mount have and do you have any photos of it in use?

Sorry guys I haven't been of the forum in a week. I will put a bare HV reschart up on the blog maybe next week. As for the upside down design, I haven't really had the time to look into it. Do you suggest that I make a system purely upside down or a right side up design with a upside down add-on? The upsidedown will be only for smaller camcorders I suppose. I don't think I can design one for those big camcorders like the Z1.

I realized that the gt35pro Elite has softer edges when used with the FX1 or bigger camcorders. I think this is due to the camcorder using most of the surface of the achromat and the HV20 was just using the center (sweet spot) part of the achromat.

Here is a writeup of the GT35pro Advanced meeting the Red One... http://provideocoalition.com/index.p...he_red_camera/
There is a vimeo clip of the footages being intermixed and the HV20 gt35pro held up very well against the Red.

As from today, I will not be selling ground glass anymore. I will only sell the 5,9 and 20 micron ground glass to gt35pro users and also those who bought the DIY kit. Some folks have put my gg in the letus extreme and the cine dof adapter and it improved the performance. This will now not be available. Please buy my gt35pro if you want that kind of performance. Thanks

Not to be caustic but you're going to control the availability punishing the rest of your potential customer base for the indiscretion of a relative few?

I mean what do you care what they do with it as long as they're buying at your set price? I wouldn't make it unavailable, just um, ...price competitive or just high enough to make the unauthorized usage economically impractical. You become less villainized that way.

'Course you can choose to do whatever you want ... I'm just sayin.'

I agree with previdman, if you're making money-you're making money. And if I buy your product, who are you to tell me how I use it?

Sorry if im asking a question which probably has been answered somewhere else, but im debating between the advanced and standard adapters, and im looking for a description and/or still comparisons between the two. I am on a tight budget, but am trying to debate if the image quality sacrificed is worth the money saved. thanks and sorry for asking such a basic question.

Thanks for your question. The image quality is almost identical except for a tad more CA on the extreme edges, not visible to the naked eye. However the Advanced is a tad brighter due to the superior achromat. The price difference is actually due to the achromat.

can you make a DIY kit for a pentax tube? Shouldn't the pentax tube be the exact same size as say a nikon or canon?

HI, Stevie-b I only make Canon and nikon adapters but you can use a Pentax adapter mount to use your Pentax lenses. This is cheap and requires no modifications or back focusing. It is $10 on ebay. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/Adapter-Fits-Pen...3A1%7C294%3A50

nikitynick, current turnaround time is 5 days provided you put in your order now before more orders come in. It will take about 7-10 days to reach you unless you want to pay more fast shipping.

Stevie-b, if you were referring to the DIY gg holder kit, it is the same size as the Canon tubes, so no problem, I can make it for you.
