I like the clip. Nice lighting and beautiful actress.
What a touching film! The girl is, obviously, mourning the death of her cat. The cat has died of asthma (or fur balls) and, instead of rushing it to the animal hospital, she recorded its dying breaths.
The explanation, by the continental gentleman with the "Marx Brothers" hairdo, was liberally emphasised with the use of the "F" word and gave much meaning to the clip shown.
Good work so far cyber cash, are you useing a 35mm adapter?
EDIT: I just saw the clip showing your camera setup, is that a DIY adapter?

Looks very promising, as I already stated in one of your earlier threads!
I'm still building my setup, but it's very similar to the one you guys use.
I have a few questions about the lighting though...
What kind of 'plastic' did you use as a diffuser? Is it just 'regular' plastic or a special one, because work lights become very hot, especially at such close distance.
How many watts are those lights? 250 or 500 I guess? And are the halogen bulbs replaced with daylight corrected ones or just the ones you bought them with (3200K or just regular 2900/3000K)?![]()
Really god atmosphere. What did you use to move the camera? It looks so stable like it was on tracks. Or maybe you have a good deshaker.
BTW I love that you talk about deep shit while the lead character sits on the toilet. ^^
At least it looks a little bit like a bathroom on that on graphic.
What you do with the weekly updates an the focus on the crew reminds me of the way M Dot Strange markets his project "We are the strange". Much to learn from this guy.
Studio Special Place - Amateurs built the Arc, professionals built the Titanic
Oh god no, she's not sitting on a toilet!Maybe we should replace that picture, haha...
The camera moves were done with a home-made dolly.
For diffusion for the lights we use standard covering foil that's usually used to cover up stuff while painting etc and to color the lights to daylight we use a few full and a few half CTB (color-to-blue) Rosco Cinegels which are basically just plastic sheets that filter light to a certain color.
And yeah, M Dot Strange rocks.
Thanks for the reply cybercrash!
I downloaded the mpeg, now I can see the gels + plastic
Those Rosco gels look nice, now I need to find a site/place that sells them though...
Have the high quality mpgs downloads been deleted? I cant download!
great stuff, video 7 is very funny.
do you only use those two garden lights for lighting? what did you use in #7?
i'm very glad to see that some hv20 users with 35mm adapters actually like people better than parks. first footage on this board that had a human being in it, and not an out of focus tree branch in sight.
(no offense meant, i know branches are good for showing bokeh and dof, but come on?!?) :-)
/matt
All those tree and branch shots, which everyone posts are development tests of their DOF adaptors which they are trying to make on the cheap. Those adaptors that the people have been making are a work in progress over a very long period of time and when someone comes along and cant explain that he likes the footage someones posted without insulting a lot of people's effort it comes across as a tad rude......no offence :-)
i also completely agree with your point but not the way you spat it out
well, like i wrote i know very well what the tree branches are for. i thought my post was more funny than rude but the idea was to make it stand out in order to get the point across, and it seems like it worked. sorry if i hijacked the thread. won't happen again.
/matt
I understood the manner in which it was written. Trees and branches are standard fare, I guess, for testing/demonstrating adapters.
This film looks terrific. Any timeline for release?
urm.......i might have been a little drunk when i posted that.
sorry
great work looks like its really coming along i just have some questions :
1: Are you using just 1 hv20 or more than one ? because i noticed your scens have alot of multi-angle shots that are very smooth, like from going from one camera to another. Or are you shooting a scene multiple times and using different angles from the different takes to make up the scene ?
2: Your extenal monitor - what one are you using ? and how did you mount it ? i like how it was done.
3: how are you recording our sound, to an external device and syncing it in post or are you using the audio captured on tape.
keep up the good work. your mate loves to swear lol![]()
