But now, I've found a post with the measures of the WD-H43 and Raynox 6600:

    The Canon WD-H43 caracteristics:
    Power: x0.7
    Deep: 54mm
    External front diameter: 75mm
    Weigth: 330g

    The Rayonx HD-6600Pro caracteristics:
    Power: x0.66
Deep: 39mm (+adaptor ring depending on the HD-6600 model)
External front diameter: 75mm (thread for 72mm filters)

And I think the XH-A1 lens hood could fit on the WD-H58 (is the lens I'm interested in), that her external diameter is 3" = 76,5 mm., because you've used double-sided tape to fit in the WD-H43, isn't it?.

P.D.: And sorry for my bad english.

Does anyone use a hood with the WD-H58? There is a lot of info about hoods for the Raynox but I haven't found any info for the WD-H58.

Lunchbox sells them through his site. I ordered one with a Cam Caddie last month and he was great to deal with.

Although they seem to be out of stock again...must be a popular item

I bought this one from B&H late last week. Fits like a glove on my Raynox HD 6600 Pro-43 No tape necessary. It has a thumbscrew on the side so it is easy to tighten and loosen so it doesn't have to be on the camera all the time.

    I couldn't be happier.

I just received my XH A1 lens hood and wow that is very tight indeed. So tight that the rubber profiling on the Raynox started moving the first time I tried it on. I'd rather keep the Raynox unmodified so I'm going to get some sandpaper and enlarge the hood opening a bit.

    I hope I don't F this up. :>
    Photo's after success.

    Succes!

Didn't take more than a couple of minutes sanding the top and bottom bars.

Yes! I just got mine! Now if only the guys at B&H weren't on a holiday I would have gotten my Raynox 6600 on time to put the thing together, but hey, it's just a matter of time...

    Cheers!

Does anybody know if this would fit on a WD-H37? I'm a little new at this, I posted a thread asking if it would fit but it was closed.

Is it safe to assume that even though it says WD-H43 that it'd fit on the H37? Thanks!

No, it's not safe to assume. Why did you buy a 37? The HV takes a 43mm thread. The 37 will vignette something terrible. That's why you didn't find any info on the 37 in here. It is the wrong lens for an HV.

I closed your thread because you should have posted in here to begin with.

I haven't bought the H37 yet. I am using an HG21, which has 37mm threads, so that is why I'm considering using the Canon WD-H37. (Also why I opened a new thread about which lens hood would fit on it, since there could be others using that converter who are looking for a proper hood.) I've read that it isn't a good idea to use step up rings as they can cause image problems and it would be better to just use a converter that fits your camera's filter ring size.

I realize that this is an HV20/30/40 forum but I know there are others with HG cameras posting here. Would it be more appropriate for me to open a thread in the HG forum? I just figured it'd be smarter to post in the Accessories forum.

Had you said initially which camera you had I would have moved this to the HG subforum instead of wasting yours, mine and anyone else reading this threads time. Yes, this forum is dedicated primarily to the HV, but we have other subforums for other cameras. This whole section is for the HV. I will move and reopen your original thread. Please post to the proper subforum from now on.

You don't need to have hood. But the hood does provide feature blocking glare. You can only unmount the raynox from the camera by unscrewing.

Thank you lunchbox..however i ordered today the hood from canon department, and after reading this discussion in this fantastic forum!i will pay to canon 25,47$;..and i hope to find a mode to mount and unmount the raynox, without screw or unscrew from the the camera! In my mind i have an idea..a thing to a mechanism but..i think that the mechanism not exists!I thinked to a support with a thread(for to screw to the camera)connected as a "door" ,to anhoter support with a thread for the raynox. So,when the "door" is close, the raynox works, and when the "door" is open the raynox not works!..for me it is hard in english..so if you understood me and can traduce in a correct english, thank you;-).Ciao.

Why is unscrewing the lens off a problem? It takes around ten seconds to take it off.
Remember to mount the lens hood from behind the lens, think of it as camera-->hood-->lens, this way you won't need any tape and you won't mess up the rubber grip on the Raynox.
