Question video captured from hv20 too dark

Video captured from hv20 by iee1394 cable using HDVSPLIT is very dark.
It's not vivid as the LCD on hv20, the gap is huge.

The captured video is played by kmplayer and windwos media player.

Does all hv20 have this problem?

    Hi,

this may sound bit obvious, but how does normal movies/DVDs look on your (computer)screen when played through kmplayer or Windows Media Player. Make sure (obvious) you have color/brightness adjustments made in the player.

Ofcourse the hv20 lcd is not 100% match for any display, but it shouldn't be 'that' far off. I have Sony Bravia TV via HDMI and the output looks just gorgeous. CRT displays and TVs have bit different dynamics in bright/contrast and colors.

There is a product called Spyder which can do the monitor calibration automaticly. Check that out.

No. If it did, there would be a lot of disappointed buyers.

When you play back your tape and view it on the LCD if it looks good but not on your computer after capturing it. Than something is wrong with the capturing process - settings, etc.

Do you have a NLE program you can try? You will be able to preview it as your capture in an NLE.

Try to open it in DGIndex, it hs its own decoder and doesn´t go through the DirectShow filter chain.

Default Thank you to all of you

I convert the captured M2T to mpeg2 file, and burned it onto a CD.
Play the mpeg in a DVD onto a standard the TV, the color and brightness is good, much better than on my computer.
Some one told me the TV and computer use different color definaton. The darkest area on TV is dark gray on computer. I think this is the reason the color looks bad on computer.

I wonder how do you edit dv in NLE programe, do you have a way to see what the final result will be on TV? Or just by guess?
