That's going to depend your personal preferences, and that camera has some fine features, however I wouldn't buy that camera.
It doesn't have any XLR connections.
The sensor resolution is small and it extrapolates the data with a pixel shift the same as the FX1, FX7 and Z1U. This makes the picture a softer than other cameras. The FX1 and Z1U were the first two HD cameras released cheaply for the common person. The FX7 now sells for $1,999, and it also has no XLR.
Just my 2 cents.
Sony HDR- FX1E looks cheap..what is your opinion on fx1e?or what would you suggest to me to buy..
XH A1!!!!!!!!!![]()
Why are you getting the fx1000? What are you planning on shooting? What is your workflow in post?
I'm not in Europe so I haven't tried any E models. As I said, the FX1 is the OLDEST model of HD camcorder. It's not horrible, but things have improved. If price were my criteria I'd probably get an FX7 and added Juiced Link XLR box with phantom power (or something similar from Beachtek, etc.)
I think the XH-A1 has a superior picture to all of those, and has XLR connections. The XH-A1E is more expensive, but it has about a 50% higher resolution sensor chip than the FX1, FX7 or FX1000. Some would argue it has even better resolution than that due to a half pixel shift on the green channel. Also, it does 24f, 30f and 60i.
Thank you Duke
i am planning to capture family memories and some places just walk around. that's all
i can spend 2,500-3,500 buck i checked xh a1 and fx1000 my idea sony fx1000 is better than xh a1
i really do not know what to buy . i bought 3-5 camcoder like hv20,hc9,hg10 and sr7 all are not satisfied me
what do you find better about the fx1000?![]()
Look at the Panasonic HVX200 as well, very nice with 2x XLR/Phantom power.
But for family memories, yeesh....hehehe.
Wait a couple of months after the HDR-FX1000 is released and take a close look at the reviews. Among other things, I'm interested in what the reviews have to say about its low light performance.
Go with the HVR-V1U or the HVR-V7U.
I still think the XH-A1 will handily out perform the FX1000 in performance. I can't believe Sony still opted not to put XLR adapters on the cam! Is a simple XLR input still "that" much of a pro feature!?
Camcorder Info gives it a great review http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...er-Review.htm#
Yeah thinking ordering the fx 1000 but wait for reviews..played with the fx 1 at sony style for the first time and I actually liked it ..light and it felt just right..and did well in low light...
the canon xh 1 is great but a bit heavy and no hdmi outputs..
I know the fx1000 comes with no xlr outputs..
thats fine with me
will see..![]()
