Best Software For Me?
Hi,
I want to shoot in HD 24P, edit with titles some transitions, music in the background etc. Then back out to HV20 tape for archiving. Then I want to make a file in a format that can then be burned on DVD. What is the best software out there to accomplish this?
Thanks

Im certainly no pro, however I have done some research into this to, and I would say for the basics, go with the Sony Vegas movie studio. (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...ct.asp?pid=447)
It will allow you to do everything you have listed, plus a heap more. It also comes with DVD architect which will burn off your movies to DVD in a wide range of formats, resolutions, etc.
From what I gather, Adobe Premiere has much more plugins available, and is much more robust. It also has better color correction algorithms, etc. I dont think any of this is really needed for an amatuer looking to do what you want. Im going to start with the Vegas studio above, and If I need to move up, so be it.
Hope that helps.

The Platinum edition only, because the plain edition does not support HD. Both support 24p though.
